More About StratGard
Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2)
Chlorine Dioxide (CIO2) produced using 2 ways; ACID-BASED or an ELECTROLYTIC METHOD. An acid-based usually hydrochloric acid will need to be mix with water and the tablet to produce Chlorine Dioxide. The result of the mixture is Chlorine Dioxide and other impurities. We do not know whether all the ingredients listed are industrial/food grade. This is a chemical process with a high level of impurities.
To increase the safety of chlorine dioxide solution, StratGard is using patented process, electrolysis method and the resulting chlorine dioxide solution is filter thru a membrane to remove impurities.

How It Disinfects
Aggressively kills bacteria, viruses and parasites by:
Permeating through bacterial cell membranes and destroying them;
Penetrating throungh the protein coat of viral capsid and damaging the virus RNA

Chlorine Dioxide (CIO2) is 10 times stronger then Sodium Hypochlorite NaCIO
“We evaluated the antiviral activity of a chlorine dioxide gas solution (CD) and sodium hypochlorite (SH) against feline calicivirus, human influenza virus, measles virus, canine distemper virus, human herpesvirus, human adenovirus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus. CD at concentrations ranging from 1 to 100 ppm produced potent antiviral activity, inactivating >or= 99.9% of the viruses with a 15 sec treatment for sensitization. The antiviral activity of CD was approximately 10 times higher than that of SH.”

How Effective it is
Research by Osaka Prefecture University Japan 2015
shows that CI02 it is highly effective at very low concentration to remove bacteria, by a factor 5 to 10 times
Civil Aviation Administration of China
Recommends Chlorine Dioxide (CIO2) as cleaning disinfectant for all Chinese Airports against Influenza Virus, Chlorine Dioxide produced antiviral activity against > 99,99% of the virus with 10 ppm treatment for 15 sec.
Antiviral activity was determined using feline calivirus (FCV, a surrogate for norovirus) Chlorine Dioxide at 10 ppm for 15 sec inactivated > 99,99% of the virus.

Further Advantages of Chlorine Dioxide
Wide Applicability
ClO2 maintains its disinfecting function over an extensive
pH range while NaClO has a limited range. Also, ClO2
Operates well in temperatures from 5 – 69 °C while
NaClO operates Well only under 40 °C.
Not affected by interfering factors
Under clinical settings where biological materials like
Blood and plasma proteins are present, ClO2 can
maintain its disinfecting function. At the same time,
NaClO loses some of Its efficacy.
Environmentally friendly
Using ClO2 as disinfecting agent eliminates the formation
Of toxic halogenated by-products like trihalomethanes
(THMs) and chlorinated compounds that are
carcinogenic and Harmful to the environment.
